Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will achieve surprising results in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in South India, stunning all opposition parties. He made these remarks during a party event where former officer R Rudrayya joined the BJP.

Bommai emphasized that people across the country are looking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with hope, and a BJP wave is sweeping the nation. He predicted that the party will secure more than 25 seats in Karnataka and deliver unexpected outcomes in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Regarding the disappointment of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities with the Congress, Bommai highlighted the BJP’s efforts in increasing SC reservation from 15% to 17% and ST reservation from 3% to 4%. This, he claimed, provided over 5,000 students the opportunity to study engineering and over 100 students the chance to pursue medical education.

Bommai alleged that the Congress government, under Siddaramaiah, diverted the Scheduled Caste Plan (SCP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) grants of Rs 11,000 crore meant for Dalit welfare. Instead, these funds were used to fulfill political promises of the Congress party, ultimately betraying the Dalit community, according to Bommai.
